Annotation symbols origin

Hi All!

I have a question about annotation symbols. How can you define origin point (location of move symbol) of annotation symbol?!

In pictures you can see what I am trying to achieve, to connect leader to the edge of the line. In one family everything is OK but in other it isn't working. In family where is everything OK move symbol is quite dislocated from the family and I don't know how I achieved that?! J

Any suggestions or help on this topic is more then welcome.

Snap points for annotations are based on all the elements inside the family, visible or not. Basically revit is creating a bounding box around your elements and use that to determine were to start the leader. For some reason in one of your tags you have reference plane as weak (working), in the other as not a reference (not working).

So probably you used a different template to create the tags.

As an experiment I added a line  to your non working tag, on the position of the horizontal reference plane

You see that they now behave the same Leader at the same position and origin at the same position.

So your not working tag, the culprit is that your reference planes are set as not reference and therefore not taken into account for the 'bounding box'.

Your midpoint of the bounding box moves a little and therefore your leader is not touching the corner of the box anymore.

I suppose that the image corresponds to a Legend View, if it is the case, you will need to model your lighting fixture rotated 90 degrees to get it in the proper orientation in the legend.

Sorry forget to mention.

it wont let me rotate in legend. 

it always loaded the wrong way as well in the model. however im able to rotate in the model. does that make sense? i have checked my family everything seem fine

In older versions of Revit, Maintain Annotation Orientation check box is not available for LIightinh Fixtures category, making symbols on vertical faces though to create.
