It seems that in 2019 as you add things into the system you no longer get feedback on how many have been added as you go. This was something you would see along the options bar above the view as you went in 2018. Has anybody else noticed this?

You are correct.
I noticed this too.
They moved the Number of Elements information to the properties palette.
Unfortunately, it does not update when adding or removing elements.
