Adding multiple shared parameters

Hey,

is there a specific add-on available that enables to multi-add  multiple shared parameters at once? I have 30+ families that I need to add all of these shared parameters. Revit allows to select one shared parameter at a time. So with one object I need to repeat the process 6 times. With 30 objects it makes 180 times. Uuuughhh...

there are any number of different addons that can do this. i believe pyRevit has a tool for that. so does CTC Tools "BIM Manager Suite" and several others.

RushForth Projects is also a good option. It does much more but can handle adding multiple parameters easily.

Also, if there's no requirement to have the parameters be a permanent part of the families you might consider adding the shared parameters as project parameters to the model category of interest. The project parameters would then appear as instance parameters in family instances.

Best wishes,

Jake

Can't you add them to the project and assign to the categories?

@ToanDN

I can, but I needed to add them in nested families. I have not done it yet. So far that I know it is possible to create some kind of Dynamo code to achieve that as well but that is totally out of my capabilities.

I’m pretty sure ParaManager does nested families as well. Can’t test it just now though on my ipad.

Di roots addin can do this. It is free and effective and they keep updating it. We used it in some of our projects.
