About Duct colors and dimensions.

Hello everyone.

I would like to know how can i make revit to round all my duct dimensions to pair numbers, and also round them, I mean, I design some air system and I get 15.75" width, or in the worst case 8.75". I would like to round them to 16" or 10" automatically without doing it one by one.

The other thing, if I design air and return hvac system, how can I put colors to duct, I want all my return ducts in red and supply ducts in blue, all I have is grey ducts with wirelines in blue and magenta. I want to see the duct blue or red or any other color.

Thank you

Hi  saldiviar.sergio;

1. Rounding problem:
 Manage tab> Project units> Discipline> HVAC> Duct Size> Rounding (To 0 decimal places or To the nearest 10 or ...)

Rounding Duct Size.PNG

2.  System coloring:

There are 2 ways :
            a) Filters: you can define filter based on system types you have and apply it to each view you may have. Some may say there is a problem with defining filters for the purpose of coloring systems (besides all benefits they have) that you have to add them one by one to each view. But I preferred to make an effort of creating a template of just filters ticked and I do apply them to each view that I need. Coloring by filtersColoring by filters

              b) Duct systems: You can go to Project browser> Families> Duct systems . You will find different duct systems under that. Right click on each one and choose Type Properties. Then either using Graphic Overrides or giving Material  to the duct can help you in purpose of having different colors for different systems. Just remember to give enough transparency to the duct (any option u utilize) since it's gonna help to check for clashes and junctions as you go on.

Hope these help 🙂

Good Luck

Hello,

If you need to use only those rounded values, you must go to MEP settings, mechanical settings, duct sizes and remove the undesired values, but this should be done before starting the project.
