Wall Wrapping

Wall Wrapping

It would be much more useful to have these two parameters "Wrapping at inserts" and "Wrapping at ends" as an Instance parameters instead of Type parameters to eliminate the need to create multiple types of the same wall.

@Ric_Weber @wr.marshall ,

You both make my job so much easier, and I thank you all for pointing out when you come across duplicates. As much as I try, sifting through over 9000 Ideas does take a village. I will take a look and make a determination on the links above. Thank you for your contribution to our Revit Ideas village!

Since wall wrapping at inserts has 4 states and wall wrapping at ends has 3, that means there are 12 possibilities - which means you would need 12 copies of each wall type to capture all these options!  Why this is not an instance parameter is mind-boggling.  AutoCad Architecture has had a similar feature with "End Caps" that is instance changeable for over 15 years.

Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our Revit Public Roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!

To follow the progress of features in development, please see the Revit Public Roadmap and join the Revit Preview Release to participate in feature testing.

Thanks for your submission and votes on this idea! The idea to disable/enable wall end wrapping by instance has been accepted. See the public roadmap card here. Note this does not include insert wrapping by instance as the original post suggests at this time. However, we continuously evaluate requests as we make adjustments to our roadmap and will consider this in the future. Thanks for the submission and keep voting!

@lauren_poonRM962 That's nice to hear, BUT... that means this is going to become another one of those ideas that Autodesk half-implements, and then checks off as "done" so the marketing department can say "look how many user ideas we implemented in this release!", then someone has to go and re-post the idea and start all over again for the other half... (for example, adjustable row heights for schedules was "implemented", but not for revision schedules...)

That said, something is better than nothing, and I can appreciate the 80/20 rule as I use it frequently... (although with Autodesk it usually seems more like 60% of the job done for 20% of the effort...) Thanks! :cara_que_ríe_con_la_boca_abierta_y_los_ojos_sonrientes:

@lionel.kai We appreciate the feedback and will consider this going forward.

This one is pretty self explanatory. Why not include a bit more wrapping functionality within the instance parameters of walls?

Sometimes the need for wall wrapping is confined to only a few instances and changing the parameters for an entire type doesn't make sense, furthermore I don't like the idea of creating a new type for a couple instances and polluting the type browser (We all know how quickly types can add up).

Thanks,
Dave
