VG Revit Links Override by Category

I am sure this is somewhere on the ideas board; however, it would be immensely helpful if we were able to control the VG Revit Links display settings and if it was available for us to selected a Link, Use a "Custom" Display Setting, and then activate the "Model Categories" (for instance) and select a single category to control.

For instance, I have a Structural model linked into my architectural. They model their foundations with brick ledges as a wall with two separate "layers". As such, it comes into my model with the line showing between layers. If I want to turn off "Common Edges" it turned them ALL off (including my architectural brick over air over insulation, etc) - which isn't want I need. So my workflow now is that I either cover it with a detail component or I go into the view template and RVT Links Display Settings and change Model Categories (all of them) to "<Custom>" and then control it there - but now I have to do this for EVERYTHING that I want to control (and remember that that is what I have set up).

Alternatively, significantly better grandularity available within and through filters could work or help as well.
