In addition to the "Open Detached" option, it would be helpful to have an "Unload Revit Links and Open Detached" option. This would make upgrades a lot faster and speed up some troubleshooting exercises.
I agree. To have the option to unload extra linked files in the linked files would be a great tool to help speed up loading times. Perhaps the script for that would be cumbersome to say the least though.
Thanks for taking the time to submit your idea. Unfortunately, this idea did not get the support of the community over the last 6 months and as such we will not be pursuing it at this time. Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.
I would want this removed from archive back to current ideas. Today we had to upgrade our models to R2019, and it would save us a lot of time if we would have an option to open a project wit the abilty have linked files in the model detached/removed. Anyway, not having to go through the whole process of opening and loading/converting these linked models.
