Underlay Color

Underlay Color

On Behalf of @Anonymous "When using Revit's Underlay (to see another level/view), it would be very helpful to be able to change the colour. I am finding that users can get confused when Underlay is on or left on, and thus the underlay prints. I believe that if we can adjust the colours, we can communicate that there is an underlay in the view. As well, if underlay could be treated like temporary hide or temporary layer overrides, then users would be prompted to continue or remove the underlay when printing. These modifications would be a good thing ... Ian"

In addition being able to underlay multiple levels each in a different colour would be beneficial, especially to check alignment of slab edges etc

это очень сильно помогло бы нам , я за изменение цвета подложк004_back-qe.png

Need the ability to select multiple vies as underlay. As and example on 50 floor building floor 10 might need to ref floor 1, floor 45, and roof level....

A response in English with clear instruction how to achieve this would be really helpful.

Need the ability to underlay an entire view in a project vs the current method of underlaying just a level

Some things need to be turned on and off and want to be underlayer in a view with the specific items. Along with drafting elements etc.

Besides the color, it would be useful if we could define whether the underlay should be taggable or not (similar to how we can set an underlay to be excluded from a selection - from my understanding, turning it off from selection should also make it invisible to the tag tool).

Reason: with underlay on, it can happen that spot elevations reference the underlay by mistake and not the actual floor as intended.

If we could assign a color to the underlay including all tags referenced to it, it would at least a visual help to avoid errors.

Hi lejla.s   I like the idea that underlays could be different colours.

What I don't like is that underlay can still be" accidentally selected" even when turned off, e.g. when a user is tagging objects or worse still, when trying to place hosted objects, guess what their preference is when hosting, yes they want to select the underlay rather than the intended host on the level you are working on.
Turning off the "select underlay elements" should do exactly what it says... make underlays fully inaccessible no matter what.

Would love your opinion.

Take a look at how Archicad works and learn from it Autodesk the "industry leader"!!!  Let me underlay any view i want, not just one similar floor. Maybe i want to trace the structural model only in PINK, and maybe i even want to temporarily bring it on top to quickly focus on something. What about sections and elevations tracing one another  How difficult is it....?

Let me know if you don`t know what else to improve, cause i have a huge list.
