Turn off all linked file annotation

Turn off all linked file annotation

I'd really, really appreciate a way to turn all annotation in linked files off in a view. It's quite tedious to have to do this individually for every link when you only want to show your levels and gridlines, and then remember to do the same if you add a new linked file in.

Or, put alternatively, please give us a way to choose whether to show Model, Annotation, Analytical and Import categories for linked files on a global basis for views.

Agreed this would be nice.

In the meantime, within your template you can set up dummy links that will retain their settings when you 'Reload From' to your actual linked models. We have the annotation category turned off by default in 5 dummy links in our template, which takes care of 90% of projects for us and we don't have to go in and turn off except on exceptional projects.

Hope this helps.

@BIMBenHL what do you mean by dummy links that retain settings? may you share an example. I like what you said but can't think of how to implement this trick.

Sorry @rmartinez-vazquez  I have should have explained a bit better:

You can use a Revit Project file (.rvt) based on your Revit Template (.rte) to link 5+ empty .rvt files (Dummy Links) which you can adjust the settings of i.e Link > Custom Display Settings > Turn off Annotation Categories.

You can then Save As this file and use it as the basis of each of your projects. This gives you 5 (or however many you choose to use) Links, which already have the right annotation settings. All you need to do is Reload From those links to the correct files.

If this is still not clear I can do a proper explanation.
