Transferrable "Linked View" view templates.

Transferrable "Linked View" view templates.

I have a 15 story building.  To display the architect's floor plans as a background, I have created 15 "per floor" view templates with "Linked View" info only.  These can be applied without disturbing any bound view templates such as "Mechanical - Piping".  This is a workaround described in other posts

........Now another problem:  Linked view settings are not transferrable between revit files!!!!

We have a separate Revit file for each discipline.  If I attempt to transfer these "per floor" view templates to another revit file (say Electrical, or Plumbing)  --The templates seem to transfer, but the linked view information disappears from the template.

We are talking about a typical workflow for any MEP firm that uses a separate Revit files per discipline.  Engineers should not be spending their entire day choosing appropriate background views.  It would be great if Autodesk could improve this workflow - and not with a paid add-on

There's a similar problem with filters. If the filter does not exist in the target file, transferring a view template to it with filters will not bring in the filters. These imperfection make it a lot less useful to transfer view templates and a lot harder to work between models.
