Surface Pattern export to Navisworks for review

Surface Pattern export to Navisworks for review

We are currently engaged on a very large metro project here in Doha, Qatar. We have in excess of 600 models for one line alone. During modelling in Revit 2015, we represent proposed tiled wall and ceiling finishes as surface/model patterns. These are not exported to Navisworks NWC or DWFX making the technical, visual and coordination review of finishes in the models impossible using Navisworks 2017 without Revit or drawings. Please consider re-enabling this feature we had before the change in Revit 2014 its a must have feature.

As I can't find anywhere to add this suggestion for Navisworks I've placed in in the Revit section in the hopes it will at least be seen so apologies to the admins in advance.

I, too am having a difficult time translating an Acoustic Ceiling Tile grid, which displays perfectly in Revit 2018 as an accurate grid (with grid-lines), and is coordinated with my reflected ceiling plans. I cannot for the life of me find a way to "import the Ceiling grid" accurately and in scale, to Navisworks 2018. If anyone has a suggestion, i will be most grateful. Thanks, John.

Thanks for taking the time to submit your idea. Unfortunately, this idea did not get the support of the community over the last 6 months and as such we will not be pursuing it at this time. Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.

Dear Autodesk Representatives,

Archiving this thread is a big mistake for a company.

This item has an important impact on coordination review which Navis is only used for. Revit and Navis is under the same umbrella; AUTODESK.

This is obviously a programming issue not a workaround otherwise it would have been shared already.

I believe the surface patterns can be transferred as lines to navis work which to be visible on the surface which is satisfactory for coordination as minimum.

You should cater this problem asap. Otherwise coordination review for such an important item will be absent within Naviswork.

I am having the same issue floor patterns in revit are not exported to navisworks.

When will the related issues be addressed? You need to check the model pattern in Navisworks.
