I seem to spend a huge amount of time trying to select elements in 2D and 3D views, hitting 'tab' as many times as it takes to select the one obvious thing that is visible on the screen. Could Autodesk use AI or some other technique to train Revit in what humans are most likely to want to select to speed up this process?
Typically I'm trying to select an element which the cursor is pointing at, and it would be completely obvious to a human what I'm trying to select, but it will be one of the very last items to be selected as I cycle through the possibilities using 'tab'. If this process could be improved it would be one of the many tweaks that would vastly improve our modelling efficiency and user experience.
This is part of a general wish that Autodesk would focus of user experience, efficiency, & workflow for future Revit releases, rather than new features. There are so many bugs, rough edges, and arbitrary limitations yet to be ironed out of Revit decades after it's release, and it's really time to come back and and add a bit of polish and usability to the basic interface that has been missing for years.
