I would like some way to "globally" show or hide chosen elements from Copy/Monitor relationships. Perhaps a dialog to "Manage Copy/Monitor Visibility", similar to the VG Worksets tab, with a list of all C/M relationships and options for "Show Both|Show Neither|Show Mine Only|Show Linked Only" for each relationship.
Apply this to views/view templates as a checkbox "Apply Global Copy/Monitor Object Visibility Settings"?
We still want to get notifications when things are updated/changed, and may want to have a view or two where all of these elements are all visible, but generally DON'T want or need to see multiple things (that *should* be identical but never are, due to ongoing revisions, or software limitations) stacked on top of each other.
Examples:
Architect has Copy/Monitored a floor slab from the structural engineer, so that they can host a recessed floor mat to it (structural needs to know where to block out). Architect doesn't want the copied floor slab (that didn't come over with any of the slab edges) to be visible in any of their sections. Structural's slab has all of the correct detailing, not the architect's. But, objects that cut their host can't affect linked elements...
Copy/Monitoring levels and grids. I *always* want to use the levels and grids in my file, so that head locations (2D and 3D, if needed) and visibility can be changed. I know you can unload worksets from linked files, but then you are relying on the other party to 1) actually use worksharing (which isn't always the case), and 2) put new levels and grids into the proper workset which doesn't happen by default. You can also update Visibility/Graphics and View Templates to turn off those categories from linked models (which is our current approach), but this is cumbersome.
