It should be possible in Revit for walls:
- the surface of the inside
- the surface of the outside
- the area of the axis
- the area of the end faces
to be evaluated individually.
This currently very often leads to incorrect information in the case of wall connections and above all sloping wall connections. These are simple parameters that are required for planning, calculation and billing purposes in the construction industry. Unfortunately, these parameters are currently only accessible as hidden parameters with the help of third-party plugins and have long been information available in the AEC software industry, unfortunately just not yet in Revit. The inside and outside areas don't have to be the same and depend on how you model. This very often leads to irritation and, as a result, to additional work.
