Revit needs a real Layer System support for better and sympler visibility control

It's hard to work when all lines, annotations, and symbols have the same black color on a white background while editing the project. Autocad's Layers On/Off/Freeze, VP Layers Overrides, and .ctb files have a much better system for controlling what is shown or not. The Revit controls for visibility it's a crazy mess. If something is not showing correctly a had to check more than 15 configurations, from "Category Visibility" to "Object Style". It is just a mess.

Just because its different from Autocad doesn't mean its a mess. It might take a short while to learn how to work through filters, templates, overrides, etc, but once you do, it works just fine. Honestly, I greatly prefer Revit's system. Its more predictable.

Something that will help a lot is standardizing how you build your models, families, templates, etc so you know right away how everything interacts.

@mhiserZFHXS If the learning its hard, that's IS a problem. It should be simple. Also we always work with third party files, that uses different ways of controlling what's is visible. We already have a good template and good standards, but it means nothing for received files. When you have thousands of ways of doing the same thing, instead of a few good ways, always leads to bad workflows. I just don't want to spent hours of work just making things showing correctly. This has reached the insane level of having Revit Add-ins specialized on visibility issues. Just insane.

@Mr.BorgesLearning is not always easy. Was learning how to be an architect, or whatever field you're in, easy?

Revit is a complicated program for complicated tasks. Sure, there are things that can improved. But it is never going to be a simple program, nor should it be.
