I am writing to express my concerns regarding the limitations of Revit LT, particularly in relation to terrain modeling and the lack of conceptual masses. As a long-time user, I find these restrictions to be a significant barrier to my design process, especially when working on architectural projects that require site context and massing.
While I understand that Revit LT is a more basic version of Revit, it is increasingly difficult to justify its limitations when compared to other software options, even free ones, like CYPE Architecture, which offers these crucial features—terrain modeling and massing—without restrictions. This capability allows users to model the building in its real-world environment and perform critical early-stage design tasks.
As a professional who relies on comprehensive tools for architectural design, I feel that Revit LT, in its current state, is falling behind. The absence of these tools limits its practicality and forces users to either purchase the full version of Revit or seek alternative software solutions.
If Autodesk does not incorporate these features into Revit LT, I will be unable to justify renewing my annual subscription in the future, and I will be forced to look for alternative software options that meet my needs more effectively.
I kindly request that Autodesk consider adding the ability to model terrain and use conceptual masses in Revit LT. Doing so would bring it in line with modern design practices and would ensure that users like myself continue to choose Revit LT as their preferred BIM tool.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
José María Carrillo Rodríguez
