Recent File Pins don't work

Recent File Pins don't work

I work on our templates often, I pin them to my recent files list. After opening other files, projects, etc., those files drop down the list of Recent files...and eventually fall off. What is the point of the Pin? Don't give me an option to pin something if it's not actually doing anything. Is there some setting that I'm missing? Why don't pinned files stay pinned?

Please fix. This is a bug more than a feature request.

This is obnoxious and was actually quite embarrassing yesterday when a file I thought I had pinned disappeared in front of a client.

I recently put in a ticket on this issue.  Here is what I received in response:

Thank you for your technical support inquiry.  I understand you are having a problem with pinned template files dropping off the recent documents list in Revit.
Our development team is aware of the issue and has acknowledged that the pin feature in Revit is not perfect and that it does not always work as intended. This has been logged as a development ticket for a potential improvement.
I apologize that I cannot give you a timeline on when improvements will be made, but the development team is aware of the feature's potential for our customers.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please respond to this or any case email, and I will be happy to assist you further.

And I see that you already have voted for the idea, which is great, as the number of votes will help the development team to evaluate the priority of the issue and provide a fix as soon as possible.

Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention.

Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

"...potential improvement."?  What I take from this is until they get enough votes on this bug that they know exists, that it probably won't be fixed.  Sorry Autodesk, but you have let me down this time.  In the meantime, I guess we need to try to get lots of votes for this idea!

Ha! That is more than they told me when I brought the BUG to their attention. They basically said it isn't a bug and it works as intended. They didn't really see that it was an issue at all.

I do find it hard to believe that they will acknowledge that it's an issue / bug, but then act like it should be treated as an improvement to the software rather than just fix something that is already developed and doesn't work correctly.

Revit Ideas are entirely different than issues already in the software. In the response to you, they acknowledged that it was an issue and "does not always work as intended". This means you should fix it Autodesk!! You should fix it without anyone asking you to, because that would be the good and decent thing to do...

The entire "Home" screen is flawed and was only created to serve their BIM 360 push, it could be so much better.
