Hi all,
Beeing a structural engineer in a precast company, the making of the production drawings is a task that is very time consuming.
Using REVIT should be the fastest way to do it. And I belive it will be (in a near future i hope).
With that in mind here are some sugestions:
1) In the schedules the shape of the rebar, with dimentions, should be drawn alongside the identification and quantities;
2) A rebar clash detection would be welcomed;
3) It shoud be possible to automatically identify and overlap rebars with over, for exemple, 12 m;
4) In an assemble, and when you have several elements with the same rebar setting and disposition, if you change 1 stirup (for example) in one of them, REVIT creates another assemble with an different name, and doesn't update the others and a simple modification has to be done 1 by 1 in all the elements that are equal from the start, creating a "group" option would be great.
As far as I know, some of the sugestions above were available as standard in Autocad SD or Advanced Concrete so it should not be dificult to implement them in REVIT.
Thanks for your time
