Railing: Non continuous railing shorter than top rail

Railing: Non continuous railing shorter than top rail

There should be a possibility to set the non continuous rails shorter than the top railing

See problem in following post:

You can do this now, by setting extensions for the top (continuous rail) family type. This achieves the same results as your suggestion of adding more controls for the rail type correct?  Or have I mis-understood the problem?

Sorry for the delay but I am quite busy.

To answer your question: Not exactly.

Example:

I draw a path for a railing.

Clients specs demands each post on 900mm.

This is the result.

I set start and end post to none

Now I want the option to delete th first and the last non continuous rail.

Your option is ok if I draw a path with the correct length.

Let's try this:

Result is acceptable.

But the fixed length of 900mm is not a good way of working.

I change the justify parameter for the balusters from "center" to "spread to fit" (max 900mm).

Better!

But now the corners:

Yeah right !

Tried a lot but it isn't working with "spread pattern to fit"

Clients demand is that the posts should have a distance of 450mm from each corner.

Tried something else (see below).

This is looking good.

Except for the start and end post!

So I have to set these to none (or is there another solution I overlooked).

This looks ok but now the top rail is too long (which can be changed) and the non continuous rail as well (which can't be changed).

After some "tweaking" though I can get this result (I changed too much parameters).

I think I have to admit that extending the rail is the solution for my first problem (I think) but now I created another problem.

Is it possible to set the posts (balusters) at a fixed position from the corners (450mm in the X and 450mm in the Y direction) and divide from there at max. 900mm?

But now I see that the Dist. from previous (900mm) is not max. 900mm!
