Numeric entries for section box gizmos

Numeric entries for section box gizmos

Right now (alright I am only looking at R19) when your 3d view has a section box applied, you can only move its boundaries by eye-balling them. This is hard to do if you work your way through say voids in a floor because there may be no land marks to eye-ball by. The idea is to have the same number input that revit would provide when inserting a wall or pipe. Negative numbers could go the opposite direction the mouse is heading in.

A workaround of sorts which I use all the time:

  1. Have a 3D view with a section box applied.
  2. In your plan view of the same area, make sure Section Box visibility is switched on in your Vis/Graphics settings.
  3. Go back to 3D and select the Section Box.
  4. Without clicking elsewhere, switch back to your plan view and you should be able to see the grips of the Section Box (just the sides, not top or bottom grips).
  5. Adjust in the plan view and hey presto you have a 3D view that's showing exactly what you wanted.
