Note Block schedule for ANY generic annotation family

Note Block schedule for ANY generic annotation family

I may be missing the proper workflow, but I cannot seem to reuse an existing note block schedule from another project. Whenever I use "Insert From File", the NB schedule comes in but is referencing a "unique" family b/c of the generic annotation's Element ID. So if I have a GA family with the same name, Revit increments the name of the "unique" GA family being brought in and removes all of the family types.

I want this process to work just like a family category schedule. Why can't I use "Insert From File" to get my schedule in the new project and bring in ALL generic annotations and filter out the ones I don't want.

What am I missing here or can the Revit team update the note block element to allow this type of behavior?

It would be nice if there's some way to change the family the schedule refers to.

We have several similar Note Block Schedules, but if we need to add another (using a duplicate the same family), we need to build the schedule from scratch.

It would be much better to be able to Duplicate the Schedule and then point to the new family
