NON-COINCIDENT Load Demand Factor

NON-COINCIDENT Load Demand Factor

I would like Revit to allow a demand factor of 0%.  Currently the lowest possible percentage is 0.01.

The reason I want this is so I can assign it to a Non-Coincident load type that I can apply to Non-coincident loads.  That way the connected loads are correct, but for the demanded load, all non-coincident loads would be zero.  This is used with loads that are never 'on' at the same time, like interlocked pumps, for instance.

Thanks.

A demand factor of 0% is helpful only if the two noncoincident loads are connected to the same panel. To truly support noncoincident loads, users should be able to specify specific loads to be noncoincident with other specific loads, such that when the loads are summed at the same point in the system one of them isn't counted.

Just ran into this on 2020. Yeah the NEC says take the higher of either the heating loads or cooling loads. I understand that a noncoincident load system may be a little complex, although they should be working on it. However I see no reason why we cant put in 0%. That can be done in a patch. There's probably a data validation that checks if input>0, it should be as easy as changing it to input>=0...

I get that a demand of 0.01% is good enough for calculations but it doesn't look professional.
