It should be possible to nest assemblies into groups or other assemblies, for example to nest a Kitchen assembly into an Apartment group. Currently no nesting with assemblies is possible, and this means we can't use assemblies at all for documentation in our office. This is a shame as the way assemblies work seems very powerful and intuitive - I just want to be able to group them!
Assemblies are the most useful for as-built models, while they let you all this:
Click less while elements inside assemblies can be edited without opening "assembly edition mode". Families and groups require to "double-click" at first and submit changes at the end.
See LIDAR point clouds during element editing. Nested families don't let you to see the cloud points which make nested families the worst choice for as-built models
After element edited new instance of assembly created without affecting other instances of this assembly.
But assemblies still cannot be nested which is serious obstacle in case of any major project where nested subassemblies hierarchy is the must.
