Hi Autodesk,
I'm working on quite large files with several links etc in.
The loading times are long, but this thread is not about that.
It's about however that I want to be able to utilize my time for something else while loading my revit files, instead of billing clients for "Loading file".
This involves, in general:
- Give me as few popups as possible.
- Don't break the process for just notifications that doesnt matter.
- Group the inputs so I don't need to click on too many popups.
- Dont make the popups come in front of other applications when i minimize revit!
- Dont make the popups change to my secondary monitor - i switched focus to this to work uninterupted!
- Dont make popups that dont require actual inputs steal my windows focus (ie, grapping hotkeys, not allowing me to write an email in the background)
- And give me a way to cancel the process in case i misclicked - this could be accidentally opening a file without specifying worksets. There's no cancel in the load file progress and there should be.
More specifically:
- Being able to much faster pick which worksets i want to load. I don't get why it needs a 1-2 min loading time before that popup. Why not save the available worksets in the top of a revit file so the A360 platform doesnt need to scan the entire file first.
- Don't make a popupwindow in front of whatever im working on to tell me that you're loading a pdf/dwg. I couldnt care less.
- Group all of the "your XX is too far away from origin, do you still want to load it" till the end of the load so I can pick yes/no to all of them.
- Make better messaging for the above popup, as "exit import" could mean a lot of things. Does it mean you'll stop loading the revit file?
Load time is one thing, but not being able even send an email in the background is just plain stupid.
This is 10 minutes of my work every single day.
Look at the screenshots. I couldnt even fill out this forum post without these popups stealing my focus.
