Maintain pipe graphics when insulation is visible.

Maintain pipe graphics when insulation is visible.

When insulation is added to piping and made visible it adversely affects the graphic display of the pipes. Pipe drops and rises change. Segments of the piping are masked also making the routing unclear. Does the pipe stop or is it connected? This is true to varying degrees for both single line and double line pipe graphics. Changing the transparency of insulation has differing affects as well.

Recommendation: Provide a means/visibility state where the insulation graphics are secondary to any and all piping graphics, line work, and rise/drop symbols.

It is critical that the drawing represent the design of the system with or without insulation showing.  Pipe should be the primary focus of the drawing.  Insulation is shown to clarify scope and ensure adequate space between pipe/equipment.
