Lock checkbox next to Length in Properties

I often need a specific length, and I'm afraid to apply constraints or use the Align tool while zoomed in because clicking one of the object's special handles can change its dimensions. Please let users lock the Length.

What length are you talking about? A family? A wall? A line? What?

If you want the dimensions to be locked then use type parameters.

If you want grips to begin with and then later have them locked, there are ways to do this using model lines in the family linked to the instance parameter and then using visibility to hide the model lines when you want the grips to go away.
