Link IFC with Phasing into Revit

Link IFC with Phasing into Revit

When linking an IFC4 file in Revit, it would be beneficial to have the ability to map the IFC Renovation Status to a Revit Phase, or to have an alternative method to utilize IFC phasing.

Currently, when an IFC file is linked in Revit, all phasing information is disregarded. Correcting this issue requires significant workaround efforts. Additionally, if the IFC file is updated, the phasing corrections need to be reapplied, rendering the 'link' option and IFC4 impractical when phasing is utilized within the file.

As an Architect using Archicad, and with all of my engineers in Revit, this seems very anti-BIM to not already be part of the OOTB Revit experience when working with IFC.

Same with exporting.

It's hilarious that the IFC itself, and as such the IFC export, doesn't handle phasing and demolitions, and requires multiple IFC exports, when IFC was suppose to be created to handle model information for the maintenance phase of the project (meaning renovations and changes). I don't understand why so many year later this is still an issue that was not addressed... Incredible!
