I find creating Massing-in- place to be frustrated and cumbersome. It can also be slowed down by the general size of the project. Currently my preference is to export .dwg plans and sections of the area that I will be creating a mass for and then importing them into the conceptual mass family to assit with modelling. I can now freely add more reference plans and sections and parameters without worrying about what is happening in the project.
If the functionality existed to Link the project file into the Conceptual Massing family this would allow for a really great workflow.
