Line Styles, Weight & Colour

Line Styles, Weight & Colour

If you need a Line Pattern with different weight, you have to create a Line Style for every Line Weight. This can result in LOTS of Line Styles, which isn't very handy. One could use Override by Element to set a different line weight / colour but the problem is: there's no easy way to spot an elements override. A solution would be to display a lines colour and weight in the Properties Panel, with the ability to change those values.

With Filters you can change the lines and texture of of multiple objects, and can apply the same filter for more than one view/template.

I think different weight is different line style, if not it would be more complicate to mannage line styles and line weight for different objects.

Another way to change line style for individual elemwnts (or subelements) is using the Linework (LW) tool, so you don't need to go to Overrides if you only want to change lines pattern. But Linework only override with defined line style, with Overrride you can reproduce a custom line setting colors, pattern and weight.

For me the best way is triying to create a line pattern for diferent categories in Object Styles, then you can change Visual Styles of object by Category by Visibility/Graphics, then do filters... And last doing by linework or override.

Why do you need a lot of different line sytles in a proyect?
