With the growing use of LED tape and custom curve luminaires, it is becoming more common to need to use in-place families (shudder) to model the project-based special conditions. While I can categorize the in-place family as a Lighting Fixture (yay!) and add electrical connectors (yay!), the interface does not allow me to classify the component as having a light source (boo!). This is an issue because some of the parameters under the Photometrics group are used in our schedules. Without the ability to add a light source we cannot use live schedules for the luminaires. This is obviously a bad thing.
Yes, I know the light source won't have an accurate "shape", but I can live with that.
