License borrowed until.... 11:59

License borrowed until.... 11:59

Might be nit picking, but still this is one of those UX things on Autodesk products that's easy to fix.

You borrow a license, and it says "License borrowed until september 21, midnight". Which is confusing, because most understand midnight as the start of the day. So you end up thinking, did I just borrow a license or not? And what's worse, a lot of users set the borrow date to the next day, "just in case".

Yeah, there's a bit of controversy on midnight, and strictly speaking it's both the start and end of the day, whatever. Most users where I'm at still don't get it.

Easy fix: say "license borrowed until 11:59 p.m." or "license borrowed until 23:59" depending on system settings. Doesn't look as elegant, but the message is clear.

Easy fix. But... those network licences will be obsolete in 2023. A very unfortunate move by Autodesk.
