This seems like a feature that would be easy to incorporate... Probably as a user-specific interface>colors>dark mode setting, so when working in a shared model, someone working in standard "light mode" can see an un-inverted version of the PDF, while the dark mode user sees an inverted version.
I really like using dark mode, but when I placed a PDF in the background, it's impossible to draw over it without externally creating an inverted copy. So, every time I update the background link, I have to take extra steps to create another inverted copy. Also, as a dark-mode user, I don't want to worry about printing a drawing with a black background.
