A couple of thoughts that would significantly improve the parameter creation dialogue, IMO:
(apologies if these are somewhere else, I searched but couldn't find anything that was quite like what I'm frustrated by!)
- When creating a new parameter (shared or project) make the Discipline and Type menus blank by default, so the user is forced to select the correct options and can't accidentally create, say, a parameter which is intended to be text but accidentally is categorized as the default 'Length' type. Alternately, maybe allow us to change the Parameter Type once it's created, so that we can actually fix a mistake like this without having to delete the parameter and start over?
Why is 'length' the default value?
- Allow batch-adding/multiple selections when you're adding shared parameters to a project. Having to go in and add them one by one is incredibly tedious. Not sure why we're forced to select them one by one...
- Give us a better dialogue box for the Project Parameters, or at least allow them to be grouped and categorized like the Shared Parameters are. Digging through this list is maddening; simple organizational tools would really help.
This mess...
vs. some level of organizational ability
Rant over- thanks for reading!
