Usually vertical ducts and pipes are modeled over many levels. It would by nice to have a split by level tool, as a command in Revit and/or when exporting to IFC.
just received another request from a customer for ability to split pipes while exporting IFC. It really would make sense, it works for the ducts already and adding pipes would be the next logical step to do
Best would be if it could be done in revit. Both for pipes and ducts. And also for revit to change the reference level accordingly. As it is now it is just annoyingly inconvinient
In addition to the splitting of pipes, cable trays, and conduits, it would also be beneficial if elements whose reference level is not a building story level could be divided by story during export. The assignment logic should be analogous to that of horizontally running elements, which are assigned to the next building story level below.
