Dear Revit team, I am an architect and a regular Revit user, working with the software on a daily basis on professional projects. I am writing to share some recurring difficulties, as well as suggestions for improvement that, in my opinion, could significantly enhance the workflow for users. Timestamps in title blocks Currently, the timestamp field used in title blocks displays both the date and the time. For readability and in line with drawing presentation standards, we generally only need the date on documents issued to clients, contractors and authorities. Would it be possible: either to have a setting that allows us to display only the date (without the time), or to provide a “Date only” timestamp type in addition to the full timestamp? Revision management The revision system as it currently works is not entirely clear, particularly in terms of how revision indices are generated and applied. I understand that placing a revision cloud assigns a revision index, but I would like to be able to control this more precisely (order, increment logic, per‑sheet revision management, etc.). A clearer interface or additional control options (for example, locking certain indices, or making it easier to manage global vs. local revisions) would be very much appreciated. PDF export of multiple sheet sets On many projects, we need to produce different plan sets (for example: “set 1”, “set 2”, “set 3”) for various recipients or project stages. As far as I am aware, the PDF export function does not currently allow us to export several sheet sets in a single operation while ending up with multiple separate PDF files (one PDF per set), saved in a chosen folder. Would it be possible to add a feature that allows us to: select several sheet sets at the same time, launch a single export, and automatically obtain, for example, “set 1.pdf”, “set 2.pdf”, “set 3.pdf” in the desired directory? Sheet duplication: sequential numbering When duplicating a sheet numbered “01”, the new sheet is automatically named “01 (1)”. This behaviour leads to tedious manual renumbering, especially on projects with a large number of sheets. Would it be possible to provide a duplication option with sequential numbering (for example, duplicating “01” would directly create “02”, then “03”, etc.), or at least to allow this behaviour to be configured in the settings? Section line appearance in plan views At this stage, I cannot find a simple way to modify the graphical appearance of the section line visible in plan views, in the same way as for grid lines (line type, thickness, pattern, etc.). It would be very useful to be able to control these parameters in the same way, via a clearly accessible style or object type, in order to ensure graphical consistency between section lines, grids and other reference elements on drawings. At the moment, this limitation forces us to resort to workarounds (2D lines, drafted details, etc.), which slows down production and complicates the updating of documents. These points may seem minor when taken individually, but they have a real impact on productivity and on the quality of the workflow in an architectural office on a daily basis. Thank you in advance for your attention to these comments. I would be very interested to know whether improvements in this direction are planned for future versions of Revit. Yours sincerely, Gilles Parquier
