Complex families could be a much more powerful tool if they could use walls and floors, the same way as they can nest any family from several categories. For example a family for a hotel room. You can't use a Group or Assembly, as they interact with sorrounding elements, making them unstable, but at the same time there'll be too many replicated units to use a linked model. Moreover, families may give you lots of parametric variations, something you'll never get from links, groups or assemblies. ------- Yes, I know there is a workaround to create loadable wall/floor families, and nest it inside another family, but they can't host doors/windows (you can workaround this too), and you'll never get them room bounding, which is the final limitation. ------- In addition, it would be desirable to have Assembly Views for these complex families. I can't find the reason why they aren't working when we put our Meccano-families inside an assembly, the simply don't appear. Does anyone know why some nested families are invisible into Assembly Views? ______ thanks,
