Currently Revit auto-thins lineweights for 3D geometry that recedes for plan and elevation views, but I find this to be aggravating as it does it automatically and we don't have any control of it.
I think for some people this automated graphical expression is useful, but for people wanting the lineweights in their views to be according to a heirarchy not consistent with viewing depth, it is an obstacle.
Can we get some flexibility here?
Adding in the Parameters Types "View Parameter"....Parameter types are: "Text, Length, Integer, Number,Area, Volume, Currency, URL, Material, Image,.....etc." .....A suggested addition is "View" ....to be another parameter type added.
This is to be able to act as a container that appears in it any other selected view to be used in title blocks, in schedules, in sheets, in dual views,.......etc"
"Reflects any view as it is"
[Parameter Type: View]
Like in AutoCAD I want to be able to place/build my models (bridges, tunnels, sound/noise barriers) at the correct geographical coordinates of the WCS without any workaround. Can you make this possible in the next version?
This isn't strictly Revit related, but cloud services didn't seem to have an equivalent Ideas forum. Compared to other Autodesk programs C4R requires more management because the licences don't spool from a server. For this reason it would be helpful to be able to assign several people to manage assignments of C4R and Team seats, so that if one person is unavailable other people may be able to shift seats as needed. The easiest way to do it would be to assign a backup software coordinator.
If one could create a visibility parameter for detail items it would have been possible to decide when a specific detail item appears in a view. The applications are numerous and it will enrich the possibility of hosted detail items within families. Another possible way to obtain this high level control is if it were possible to associate detail items with family subcategories. Subcategories are controlled through visibility graphics per view so this will allow for ultimate visibility control. Wouldn't that be nice? and how much 2d correction time could that save!...
I would like the Starting View button on the Manage tab to BY DEFAULT open the actual view so that users can sync with central faster. We instruct all users to have only the Starting View open during STC and Plotting so that view generation is not an issue. There can be a drop down under it to change the default view. The real fix would actually be this:
Why Revit by default doesn't just do the best case scenario: When STC or Print is executed: Database writes all open views to a temporary list, closes all these views, opens only the startup view (or nothing!?), STC or Prints, then reopens all the views the user previously had open.
Please can the 'Beam Type' parameter be made a Type parameter instead of an Instance parameter? This is so beam system types can be pre-configured with the correct size. It's currently a bit of an irritation to set up beam system types and then having to remember to check the instance parameter is calling up the correct size of beams.
When drawing duct, the options bar allows you to input the duct size. When drawing rectangular duct, I'd like to see the tab key enabled to switch from the width field to the height field within the options bar.
This general use of the tab key in the options bar may benefit many other processes in Revit as well.
Please can we have the ability to explode an inserted Autocad 3D Solid Model in Revit and keep the elements as Solid objects.
When you insert an AutoCAD 3D Model it would be great to have the ability to explode the model in Revit and keep the 3D solids so that it does not have to be modeled again.
this the six idea then I submitted for you, is about the U - Table for Revit MEP. you can watch the below link.
This is the second Idea about the Wall Edit Structure Dialogue box and I explained everything about my idea here.
This the fifth Idea then I submitted for you, I explained everything here and you can watch the link below.
While editing a sketch it is often handy to switch to other views. While editing a sketch Section heads and detail callouts are selectable and activatable, but elevation heads are not. Please standardize the selection method in the sketch environment.
Hello Revit Community,
The idea I have falls in both the MEP and Revit department, so I decided to post it here, as Revit itself is the program that opens the fabrication part selection tab. How about making something similar to the Properties Bar, where you can search for keywords? That would be excellent as people begin expanding their Fab Part Libraries. Even if I clicked inside the MEP Fab Parts extension and began typing, it would be nice if it highlighted whatever piece I had been typing.
Not sure if this exists already but while examining multi story buildings it would be great to somehow lock x2 views side by side so when I control one view say on level 10 it will move around the same area on level 9.
Please review our Idea guidelines and best practices before posting a new idea, or voting on an existing one!
