HALFTONE mask

HALFTONE mask

It would be nice to have a type of mask to attenuate the covered objects or part of them, just like a masking region but instead of full white, keeping a soft visibility.

Potential uses would be a lot:

- Focus view zones
- Fade sections and elevations backgrounds or undisered objects

@RogerRebbit: You can do that by using Transparency. Select an object , go to Visual Style button on the bottom toolbar (yes, it is the button next to the Sun button). Press Graphic Display Options button on the list. Expand the Model Display category, go to Transparency and set the slider value as needed. Lower number means more opacity. Click Apply, click OK. This method works with detail components like Break Line, etc.

For model elements: Select the element(s)>right click>Override Graphics in View>By Element/Category>Check Halftone option>Click OK.

Other method: Press V+G for Graphics Override>Model Categories tab>Check Halftone or Set Transparency to any category you want.

@ipselute,

that's not the idea. What you are saying would affect the whole view, without focusing or distinguishing anything. Also, there is a big difference between Halftone and Transparency when printing, as the first one can be vector-processed, unlike the latter
