Grid changes through links

Grid changes through links

It would be great if somehow grids could be controlled so that any changes (grid heads on or off, adding elbows) made in a master grid file could be pushed to all links, and any link that needs to make a custom change could override the linked location through either a copy monitor function on a single grid or some other dialog. Currently I have to setup 5 links for each project we do, and by far the most time is spent getting grids propagated to each links views the same as my structural file.

linked on/off could be accomplished with my suggestion here: View Template include subcomponent from other template

The extents of the grids can be controlled using a scope box and Omina Revit scope box sync can manage the scopes form a central file: )

This was just discussed just on our call today.  It is relevant but gets buried by all the other Ideas that need to be implemented. Many ideas take off because of how the question is posed. Easy to read and understand or sometimes not so much. In many cases this is so tedious that most users don't deal with the grids and leave it to the BIM Managers. That means less votes from common users.  That means it gets archived or does not float to the top. Doesn't mean it doesn't need to be fixed.

@BrianZuzik  Revit is capable of copy/monitoring inked grids and turning the linked grids off.  Using copes helps to manage extents.
