Generate Revit Pipe and fittings from PCF file

Generate Revit Pipe and fittings from PCF file

If Revit had the ability to generate a Revit piping model from a PCF file it would allow legacy piping models generated in outdated platforms to be used in new projects that are being done in Revit. This would save hundreds of man hours and allow many firms who are holding on to outdated competing software to transition to Revit without loosing all of the effort from the past. In addition to the benefits of reviving antiquated models it would allow for isometric generation of design models through Autocad plant 3d. Typically isometric drawings would be completed during fabrication but the ability to do so from the design model would allow for easier collaboration in the beginning phases of a project. Sometimes it is easier to review with a client with an isometric when access to pc is not feasible.

Plant3d and Revit does not interoperate in a good level. There is no way to export to IFC file between those two softwares, so I created this idea:

There is a way to use PCF file format to export/import from and to Revit. Is not that easy but maybe will help you.

I also posted an Idea to make this PCF export/import more easy.
