Fix locking of dimensions (lock symbol shows up far away)

Fix locking of dimensions (lock symbol shows up far away)

Hello,

First and foremost thank you for your great software.

I'm going to be concise so it'll be better for everyone.

I use Revit to make standard families in my company and it's very tiresome to have to scroll to the lock symbol to lock dimensions when drawing, for example, the profile of an extrusion. It makes you lose a lot of time and isn't worthy of a power-user BIM tool like Revit.
Here are 2 pictures to illustrate what I mean: 1) I select the permanent dimension I wish to lock, 2) the lock symbol shows up very far away, which compels me to scroll each time I want to lock something.

Thank you for your attention.

I concur.  This has happened for way too long, and the unpredictability is a time waster here and there, as you never know how much to zoom out before the lock symbol shows up.  (I am hoping it will be an undocumented improvement in 2022, which I have not yet tested, but I'm not holding my breath.)

I'm reviving this thread because it drives me absolutely crazy when making custom families

I can't believe they have done nothing to this. This kind of design flaws can't exist in a software this expensive.

This is a pretty annoying problem. I'm often working at a small scale on small geometry and in order to lock all the dimensions I'm placing I have to zoom in and out over and over again to go from working on the model to locking the dimensions. Can the lock symbol always appear just under the dimension in the same area as EQ maybe?
