Fix inconsistency with Spot Slope Annotation

Fix inconsistency with Spot Slope Annotation

You cannot place a Spot Slope annotation on a ramp.

This is unfortunate as displaying a ramps slope is a common thing to do on plans.

But there is a work around, create a sloped floor, add the slot annotation to the sloped floor, then drag it onto your ramp - and it works and correctly displays the ramps slope.

This is a strange work around, and reflects badly on Revit - Spot Slope should simply work with ramps.

Hi,

Using spot slope on ramps isn't working well and needs fixing.
No reason why something simple and basic like this requires workarounds (and even then only works sometimes).
Plus, would be great if it could spot slopes for curved ramps and not only straight ones.

Thanks.

Agree, and the Spot Slope should work within every country standard, like displaying slope in permille:

Spot Slop Will Not Place on Ramp after this Place on the Ramp this show No Slop

But

if spot slop place on the Floor and after this copy on the Ramp , The problem is solved

So it's better to have no intermediaries Spot Slop place on Ramp.

Can we please get ramps to host Spot Slopes or perhaps embed the option to show a slope direction arrow in the Type Properties of the ramp?

Either an triangular arrow along the whole ramp > or an arrow like the stair path ---->

Thanks,

I've also been able to add the spot slope to the ramp in a 3D view and then copy and paste it to the plan view....then it works on the ramp!

This issue is still there in Revit 2019.

"Cut-paste" from 3D view does not work; moving arrow from slab does not work.

The only thing that works is to create a model line in 3D and use this line to place the spot

Congrats! We think this is a great idea, so we've decided to add it to our roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!

... we still very much need to use permille in our drawings, both for architectural, landscape and HVAC drawings etc.

It would be great to have additional graphic options for what the slope indicator annotation looks like.  We would prefer a ramp slope indicator to look like a triangle that starts at the upper part of the ramp (that is where the two points of the "bottom" of the triangle would be at the widest edges of the ramp) and then the point of the triangle should be at the midpoint of the lower end of the ramp.  Like this:
