Ellipse offset to be an editable element
It is year 2016 and still if you offset an ellipse you are presented with un-editable object? Cannot trim it, cannot split it , cannot move the endpoints...
Mathematically, It's impossible to generate a true ellipse by offsetting an ellipse. The reason it's offset as a spline is to keep an equidistant from the original ellipse geometry to the new "ellipse". If you draw an ellipse, then offset it, and then draw another ellipse using the offset spline's "quadrant" points, you will see the two geometries are different.
In Autocad it creates true spline when offsetting an ellipse. However In revit it creates a spline that has no control points and cannot be split or trimmed. That resulting element is unacceptable. If you someone knows how to make this element editable please share.
