edit text override, prefix, suffix, etc. for multiple dimensions at once

edit text override, prefix, suffix, etc. for multiple dimensions at once

It's humbug enough to override the dimension text (since it requires multiple clicks into the dialog), but even more annoying is when you need to do it multiple times (for shearwall callouts, etc.). It would be nice if you could at least select multiple dimensions and edit the text, prefix, suffix, above, and below for all of them at the same time.

Easiest way to do this would be to make them all Instance Properties for dimensions.

Although personally I think Prefix and Suffix should be included in dimension Type Properties instead, to enable us to have dimensions with a standard prefix/suffix

@awasyliw I wouldn't want prefix/suffix CHANGED to type properties, but wouldn't mind an ADDED property:

Prefix and Suffix Text in dimension Style (like there is for Alternate Units)

So that we could have one style for regular dimensions, and another with rounded units and "±" suffix.

How this has been an option for alternate units but not standard units for so long is just yet another ridiculous oversight that should've been resolved many years ago...

matt brought this up in 2016.

"In addition to the instance-based addition to a dimension string by double-clicking, it would be great if we had a holster of prepared text for dimension strings, like "date measured", or "+/-", "MIN.", "MAX", "TO BE VERIFIED" etc. and can change multiple dim strings to add this information with one click."

For structural work that needs to be coordinated with non BIM users in the field, this tool would be used all the time.
