I was fiddling with different mass models next to one another which made me want to adjust the size of my level 1 at zero elevation. when I tried to adjust levels 2 thru 4 (which are 3200 mm above each previous level), I found that even if I view cubed to a front view, there would be no blue dotted guide lines to aid me getting them the same size as my orginal level. It seems these only appear in 'proper' elevations.
The idea would be to provide guides in 3D as well.
