Easier Modeling from Point Cloud

Easier Modeling from Point Cloud

More tools to make converting a Point cloud into a Revit model.

For example if Revit could recognise surfaces in point cloud that we can apply walls, roofs, ceilings to. Just like with the pick line tool you could pick a point cloud.

I wish autodesk to have a feature in Revit to extract point cloud data directly into Revit families and 3D model. There are already quite a few decent software for point cloud extractor with plugins to revit.. so it would be best id Revit able to extract by itself..

Technically, Revit can already do this...it just isn't part of Revit's tools...but there are 3rd party tools available...

@filipefrancisco If you are looking for surface generation, you can do that using Infraworks's "Point Cloud Terrain" tool with minimum to no effort.

Also create Lines and Arc from best-fit tool, like in Civil 3D. But from a slection of point cloud points.

@samuelsanf Users can also use feature extraction capabilities from point cloud data, directly in ACC without downloading any points. All the extracted features (lines and points) can be exported to LandXML or DXF to be used directly in C3D
