Displaced Elements in 2D Sections & Detail Views

I was explaining how we space components in our details to show the locations of things such as sealants. This gave me the idea that if could space the underlying model components in a similar way to how we can create displaced elements in a 3D view we could produce better installation details.

Below I have attached 2 versions of the same detail the first is just showing some of the model elements in the detail view, the second shows how we show the same view in and AutoCAD detail where we have spaced the elements to show the locations of the sealants and the build order of the flashings and metal closures.

I support this idea. Most of the details that I have done involves pulling elements apart to show how everything is assembled. The issue with using the Revit model as a hybrid is that we cannot displace the model in Plan and Callout views. This is why I use Drafting Views for my details. If you give us the ability to literally displace everything in plan, elevation, section and detail views, it will open up a lot more opportunity to do better detailing

Please feel free to rework (titles and clear descriptions are really important) and resubmit this one down the road.
