Dimension to Displaced Item to Stretch to the Item, but show the Real Dimension Length

Dimension to Displaced Item to Stretch to the Item, but show the Real Dimension Length

Currently if you dimension to an item and then displace that item in a view, the dimension will remain correct, but it doesn't pull across over to the displaced item any longer.  See #1 below.

I want to suggest that if you displace an item, any dimensions to that item will stretch over to the visually moved item and still read the correct distance (the model is still the same, it's just in this view that it was moved visually).

Then also allow detail items to be displaced from each other.  So in the case of #2 below, those two detail items could be displaced from each other but the dimension would still read the 10 1/2".

This would really help those folks that want to fake the numbers, but in my mind, would put those of us on the "NEVER" side of the fence a lot more at ease.

Someway to denote that that particular dimension is not to scale automatically would be great too.  I saw one image that was imagining a break line type zigzag be put into the dimension line.  That could be automatic when dimensioning to an item that is then displaced in the view.  I really like that idea!
