@Mike.FORM I need a diagonal line with arrowheads at both ends and a short text above the line at the middle. (e.g. slab height = 20cm). I also need the text to automatically rotate and align with the line, no matter how i stretch or rotate the line. I created such generic family but i never managed to make the text to automatically reposition and align with the line.
It is easier to do it "Autocad-style": a diagonal dimension line with arrowheads and override the dimension's numerical value with desired text.
This is a line based detail item family that does what you want. The text and arrow heads are nested, locked to ref planes, and they adjust based on the scale parameter.

Just like the straight line, select line, and curved line options, a draw line with arrowhead option in the detail lines tool would be useful. There are definitely work arounds, but the option to add arrowheads to a line would speed up the process.
