Create a new Foodservice Equipment family category that also allows sections to be cut.
Currently we are using Specialty Equipment, but foodservice relies on cutting sections of our cabinets and counters and Specialty Equipment families cannot be cut to create sections like other categories such as Casework.
This is a major problem preventing foodservice designers from switching from CAD to Revit and causing consternation among existing foodservice Revit designers.
We are a major part of the design team on projects with commercial kitchens, we need our own category to differentiate ourselves from the rest of the consultants just like lighting consultants, furniture consultants and IT consultants.
AEC community, please join us, if something doesn't change we will be forced to use the Casework category so we can create cabinet sections but stainless should not be casework...this is being discussed in our industry Revit committees this year
